Myriad Botanical Gardens
Located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, these gardens are stunning! These gardens not only offer an escape from city life but include a 17-acre botanical garden and an interactive urban park. Did I mention, they also have a dog park! I love that they include all members of the family.

My favorite aspect about botanical gardens is the botanicals themselves. What is that old-time saying . . . "I'm like a kid in a candy shop". Photography is my other love, aside from farming, and gardens give me an opportunity to enrich and expand that skill.
Besides all the photographic opportunities, gardens provide me with peace. A place to unwind, get out of my head and away from work and everyday worries, and enjoy the quiet. They provide fuel for your curiosity and wonder. The intricate layouts let you flow from one area to the other, always wondering what's around the corner.
For that foodie in me, the gardens offer authentic food and beverages that showcase the garden's (or surrounding area) culture. I highly recommend trying the gardens restaurant, cafe, or tea house on site.

This garden is one that you can easily spend a half-day to a full day exploring. It has so much beauty to offer and the layout is one for some inspiration! I recommend going first thing in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat (depending on when you go) if you are daring to venture out on the weekend amongst the crowds. Otherwise, take a day out of the week to go explore and have the park seemingly to yourself.
