Mission San José
This 300-year-old architectural beauty is located in San Antonio, Texas, and is known as the "Queen of the Missions". It's the largest of the missions and has been almost fully restored to its original design!

Did you know that Spanish missions were not churches, but rather communities? Yes, they had a church focus and there was a church on site, but there was also so much more! Walking through the site, you can feel the history here.
Mission San José is one of four missions that make up the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, and definitely the most beautiful. It's the most remote and secluded out of the missions, surrounded by thick stone walls that you would see in the 18th and 19th centuries. You will also find the main visitor center here.
You can wander around yourself, or if you are a history buff and want to know all you can about the history of this beautiful place, then you can opt for a ranger lead tour. These tours cover the history of life at the missions.
