East Beach & Beachtown Village
East Beach is one of the main beaches in Galveston, Texas, and is home to the beautiful Beachtown Village.
Galveston has beautiful beaches, yummy restaurants, many outdoor activities on and off the water, and local boutiques and fun shops! It's no wonder that it's a tourist hot spot.

East Beach
1923 Boddeker Rd., Galveston, TX
Located at the far eastern tip of the island, East Beach, also known as R.A. Apffel Park, has a pavilion, boardwalk, entertainment stage, restrooms, showers, chair and umbrella rentals, a children's playground, concessions, and other amenities. Unlike most of Galveston's beaches, alcohol is permitted at East Beach.
Throughout the summer, you will find that most festivals and outdoor concerts are held on East Beach; however, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Sandcastle Competition is the most well-known. This is a must-see!
Beachtown Village
On the east end of Galveston Island is one of the few places in the South where nature is making the beaches wider. Beachtown Village is connected to nature and is defined by an open town center.
Beachtown Village is like the Hamptons of Galveston. Designed by Duany Platter-Zyberk and Company and inspired by Galveston's rich architectural heritage, this is a place of welcoming porches and time-honored architecture.
Along with residential housing, you will find plenty of vacation rentals. But don't forget to visit Porch Cafe & Bristo, great for fine dining, wine & whiskey pairing, happy hour, and events! The views are amazing, and the access to the beach is the whole reason for vacationing in Galveston.
